Completed INELDA’s End-of-Life Doula training but haven’t had a chance to practice your skills? Started the journey but found yourself interrupted by challenges, changes, COVID? “Refresher” is a shared learning space where you can continue cultivating your gifts, connecting with the community, and exercising your creativity.
Doulas play a critical role in end-of-life care by providing emotional, informational, spiritual, and at times physical support for dying persons and their loved ones. This class invites you to revisit who or what brought you to end-of-life work and strengthen those foundational doula principles with INELDA’s current training approach.
As doula work evolves, so does our learning
Using the documentary Prognosis: Notes on Living, you’ll have an opportunity to practice listening, empathy, and helping the dying and their loved ones explore meaning, release anxiety, and navigate grief. We’ll also explore advanced care planning, VSED, and MAiD topics not covered in our foundational end-of-life doula training.
Is End-of-Life Doula Training Refresher right for you?
This class is for those interested in accessing the latest concepts and techniques explored in our current end-of-life doula curriculum. If your INELDA-training occurred before September 2021 or you trained with another doula organization, we have much to share with you.
This class is smaller in size than our end-of-life doula training, and participants will learn as one cohort and in pairs and small groups, with discussion and interactive exercises to experience and practice doula skills.
TRAINING MATERIALS PROVIDED:
- All learners will be granted access to prework that includes Prognosis: Notes on Living documentary
- All learners will receive the Refresher workbook to download
- Previously trained INELDA doulas will be granted access to INELDA’s current EOLD prework consisting of videos and readings
- Previously trained INELDA doulas will also be granted access to INELDA’s current EOLD manual as a PDF

Their insights and stories from the bedside capture the essence of doula work and inspire attendees to walk with them on the same path. They also have extensive backgrounds in trauma-informed care, nursing, social work, spiritual care, grief, the healing arts, adult education, and hospice administration. Every one of them has also completed or is engaged in, our doula certification process.
