DEI Work Moves Forward – with your help
INELDA is looking for volunteers who are willing and able to add their voices and expertise to our efforts to build a more Diverse, Equitable, and Inclusive end-of-life doula community. Interested in lending a hand? Read on.
Last fall we convened a BIPOC Advisory Council, called the Council for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (CEDI). CEDI is actively engaged in both advising INELDA, as well as donating its members’ knowledge and experience in more hands-on ways. To better tackle the numerous and complex issues CEDI is addressing, we are expanding its size.
We strongly recognize the need for an LGBTQIA2S+ Advisory Council and are actively seeking members. This Council will function similarly to CEDI and will collaborate with CEDI, but will develop its own agenda of issues on which to focus.
To apply to be on the advisory council CLICK HERE. We are accepting applications April 18th through May 21st. Please note: you will need to submit a letter of recommendation with your application. We look forward to incorporating your energy and ideas!
Staff Updates
If you took the INELDA end-of-life doula training recently, you’ve already met Geniquiya Meredith, the newest addition to our team. For everyone else, Geniquiya serves as our Training Coordinator and has been with INELDA for over two months. When Geniquiya is not working for INELDA she works in higher education as an advancement and development professional. She works closely with non-profits such as Girls Incorporated, which she was a member of for 10 years. In her spare time she loves to travel, spend time with family, and brush up on her competitive jump roping skills.
Sadly for all of us, Christy Moe Marek recently left INELDA to focus on other projects. We miss her already, but are happy that she is following her path where it takes her. Thank you for sharing your warmth, intelligence, and integrity with us, Christy. We are all the better for it.
