CARE PARTNERS CLASS FOR THOSE SEEKING TO USE END-OF-LIFE DOULA SKILLS AT HOME

In response to growing interest from family members and loved ones who want to support someone close to them in the end phases of life, INELDA has developed a Care Partners Class. If you, too, are curious about the work end-of-life doulas do and how you might use the profession’s concepts at the bedside to help a loved one navigate the dying process, this class might be right for you.

Unlike our end-of-life doula training, our Care Partners Class is tailored specifically for learners who have a close or intimate relationship with the person who is entering the dying process. This class will help Care Partners honor the relationship they have with the person dying, foster a quality of life that meets a loved one’s end-of-life wishes, and bring deeper meaning to this transition. Participants will learn valuable doula skills and tools to support them in this intense time.

The curriculum will explore care planning, mortality, grief, and self-care in a safe environment, guided by INELDA instructors who will help you find new awareness of the dying process—physical and emotional.

The class meets for four sessions, each three hours in length. Learning modalities include lectures, discussions, and breakout sessions. Class size is limited to 40 students. Enrollment is still open for our March Class (February 28 through March 11). Read more and register here.

At this time all INELDA classes are held virtually, through Zoom.

Enrollment fees:

Non-members:  $250

Members: $225 (10% savings)

INELDA INTRODUCES  NEW GRIEF AND LOSS COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICE

INELDA is proud to launch a new support program for doulas and caregivers. Beginning February 14, 2022, we will offer one-on-one counseling and emotional support to our trained members, Care Partners Class graduates, and current EOL doula students. Our Grief and Loss Counseling and Support Service is included in your annual membership fee, with no additional cost to members. Our support center staff will provide one-on-one counseling offering support and processing of grief, anticipatory grief, loss, and caregiver support. Sessions will be held online via Zoom and will run 45 minutes.

If you are a doula struggling with secondary trauma, grief, anticipatory grief, or loss or a caregiver in need of emotional support, please contact us at [email protected] to schedule a brief intake call. After your initial intake is completed, our team can work with you to schedule your individual session.

We look forward to supporting and caring for you!

INELDA DOULA LOGO KIT

In case you haven’t seen it yet, new logos are available for all INELDA-trained doulas to download for local use on your business cards, letterhead, and other collateral materials. We ask that you read and sign off on our updated scope of practice and code of ethics documents in order to access the new logos.

If you have not yet done so, the process is simple. Once logged into your INELDA account, hover over the DOULA RESOURCES button and select DOULA RESOURCE ACCESS beneath it. Then, follow the prompts. After completing the process, the DOULA RESOURCES menu will populate with several options, including new INELDA logos (new “Trained” and “Certified” logos), the new doula slide presentation, and the doula kit. Additional doula support tools will be added in the coming weeks and months.
