Join In Our Mission
One of the main missions for INELDA is to provide state of the art information on end of life care, explore innovative new concepts, and offer access to leaders in the field. We do that through our monthly newsletter, posting articles on our website, and by offering bi-monthly webinars.
In last month’s webinar, I interviewed Kris Kington-Barker, the Executive Director of the Hospice of San Luis Obispo County, a California hospice. We helped her hospice create an end of life doula program over a year and a half ago. And she has been in healthcare for a very long time. She and I talked about the qualities that make a good doula. Kris was fantastic. She offered a very nuanced and thoughtful look at how good doulas work. She also discussed what makes the difference between a good doula and a great doula. Many people who listened to that webinar told us it was one of the best we’ve done.
We have a number of excellent webinars coming up through the rest of the year, including another discussion with Kris Kington-Barker. In May we will interview Kate Carter, the Founder of LifeChronicles, a free video legacy project. You can read more about that webinar in INELDA’s April 2017 newsletter. But in order to listen to the webinars, you must be a member of INELDA. There are many other benefits to being a member, which you can see listed on our website. I want to encourage all of you to become members if you haven’t already done so. Besides the webinars and other benefits, you will feel good knowing that you are supporting our efforts to change the face of dying in this country and elsewhere.
