Inclusive Deathcare Training

Affirming the Journey: Inclusive Deathcare Training for Doulas

INELDA and SAGECare partnered together to offer this capacity-building training and the Inclusive Deathcare badge to integrate deeper competencies and skillfulness in order to best serve LGBTQ+ older adults navigating deathcare and end-of-life.

LGBTQ+ lives are marked by resilience, discrimination, and advocacy, paving the way for the rights and recognition the community experiences today. As the current generation reaches their end of life, it is essential that doulas provide a level of care that is both culturally competent and person-centered.

After completing the training, end-of-life doulas will be equipped to provide compassionate support to a generation of trailblazers, ensuring stories are honored and that care is delivered with inclusivity, respect, and empathy.

This SAGECare/INELDA training hosted by INELDA consists of a 2-hour online module that requires written reflections throughout. This training has been thoughtfully built to weave together your INELDA Doula Approach with LGBTQ+ community specific learning. Once you have completed this online learning module, you will be eligible for a badge that reflects your training. You can display this wherever you are listed as a doula, and you will appear on the SAGECare Find A Provider directory as a doula trained to work with the LGBTQ+ older adult community.
