Would you like to become an INELDA Certified Doula in 2025? 
As we navigate improvements to our program based on your feedback, INELDA will be accepting applications for our current certification process until September 30th. If you have trained with us and would like to pursue certification, submit your application by the deadline. View all prerequisites here.
Please note that if you would like to apply, you must submit your first case by December 15th to move forward in the program. If you have already submitted an application but haven’t yet submitted your first case, please do so by December 15th.
Our new, updated application process will open on June 15, 2025. This new process will include an application along with a recap of one of your death doula experiences that demonstrates INELDA’s doula core competencies.
We will be offering a Certification Discovery Call in April 2025 to share our new process and answer any questions. Check back in the coming weeks to register for this call!

We will investigate models of care, deep active listening, rituals and ceremonies, vigil planning, and more. This training is open to all and consists of self-paced prework, online training sessions, and online postwork. It also includes 2 optional group review sessions.

- Intermittent breaks and/or lunches will be provided during each session, depending on the course format.

As we navigate improvements to our program based on your feedback, INELDA will accept your initial case packet submissions for 2024 from October 1st – December 15th. (You must have submitted your certification application and all necessary documents by September 30th to be eligible.)

INELDA’s Doula Peer Group is an educator-facilitated, open discussion about working with dying people and their loved ones.
This group is open and available at no additional cost to INELDA-trained doulas with a current Tier 2 and Tier 3 membership. Join in monthly for an opportunity to hear from, encourage, support, and learn from each other.
This recurring Zoom meeting will take place on the first WEDNESDAY of every month from 7–8:30 pm (ET). You are free to drop in whenever you can during the session. *Dates and times may be subject to change dependent on holidays and/or facilitator scheduling: check the website for regular updates.

We invite you to join us on October 30th from 7-8:30pm ET in an exploration of how we can process grief with art with Charlene Lam, founder of The Grief Gallery. Following the death of her mother, Charlene considered the question, “If I were to curate an exhibition about my mother, which 100 objects would I choose?”. Together we will explore how her artistic approach allowed her to explore her grief and create a grief gallery for her mother. The night will be moderated by INELDA’s director of education Omni Kitts Ferrara.

This training is open to all and consists of self-paced prework (10-12 hrs), online training sessions (24 hrs), and online postwork (3-5 hrs). It also includes 2 optional group review sessions. A Certificate of Completion will be made available after finishing all necessary materials.

Additional Details
- Prework consists of an estimated 10-12 hours of self-paced videos, journaling, and discussion forums.
- Postwork consists of an estimated 3-5 hours of independent exercise & discussion forum.
- Participation in our online sessions requires internet access and the use of a computer, tablet, or phone with audio & video capabilities.
- Intermittent breaks and/or lunches will be provided during each session, depending on the course format.
- The training includes optional review sessions, during which participants can recap with each other and the educator(s).
- After registering, participants will receive a printed workbook via UPS as part of the course fees, which they will use throughout the training.
- To receive an INELDA Certificate of Completion for the course, you must complete all prework materials, attend required sessions, and complete postwork.
- Completing our training allows INELDA members to be listed on our Doula Directory and to move forward with our Certification process.

INELDA’s PRIDE Mentoring Group is an educator-facilitated, open discussion about working with dying people and their loved ones. This group offers participants a safe listening space to connect and to cultivate conversations that are specific to the needs of doulas within the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
The PRIDE group is open and available at no additional cost to INELDA-trained doulas with a current Tier 2 and Tier 3 membership. Join to collaborate and share ideas, experiences, and feelings from the community’s specific perspectives. (At this time, this group does not include allies.)
This recurring Zoom meeting will occur on the third THURSDAY, every 3rd month (quarterly schedule) from 7–8:30 pm (ET). You are free to drop in whenever you can during the session. *Dates and times may be subject to change dependent on holidays and/or facilitator scheduling: check the website for regular updates.
