Alex Smith and Eric Widera host this weekly podcast bringing together “the brightest minds in geriatrics, hospice, and palliative care to talk about the topics that you care most about.” Started in 2016, the podcast offers deep archives featuring insights into both the roots and current movements of the end-of-life care space. Archived episodes include historic footage from Dame Cicely Saunders; deep dives into neuropalliative care, international palliative care, and ethics; and talks with leaders in the deathcare space, such as Ira Byock and BJ Miller.

Host Alex Smith is a palliative medicine physician-researcher and professor of medicine in the UCSF Division of Geriatrics. Eric Widera is a clinician-educator in the division of geriatrics at UCSF.
