Yesenia Lira‑Baus is an end‑of‑life doula who weaves together emotional support, spiritual exploration, and nature‑based healing. Her background spans mental health, elder care, housing, and multicultural education, giving her a wide lens on the many ways people seek connection and belonging. When she’s not supporting individuals and loved ones, she can be found in the forest, tending to her own practices of presence, reflection, and community care.
“As the founder of Alma & Luna Care Services, I build on my training from INELDA’s End‑of‑Life Doula programs, along with certifications as a Neighborhood Naturalist and UC Climate Steward. My work is enriched by my belief in the healing power of nature, ritual, and community connection.”
She is a Spanish‑English bilingual doula whose path to INELDA grew from decades of service in multicultural, intergenerational, and LGBTQIA2S+ communities. Through her practice, Alma & Luna Care Services LLC, she offers emotionally safe, culturally responsive support that honors each person’s story, identity, and spiritual traditions.
Yesenia Lira‑Baus has more than 25 years of experience supporting diverse communities through roles in affordable housing, multicultural education, children’s mental‑health services, and elder care. She has worked in assisted living, volunteered in hospice, managed residential housing, and supported students and families in equity‑focused school programs—experiences that have strengthened her ability to accompany people through transition, identity, grief, and aging. She also serves as a Forest Host with Better Place Forests, where she deepens her nature‑based approach to grief, emotional support, and spiritual care.
