Marady Duran is a certified end-of-life doula, medical social worker, somatic trauma practitioner, and therapist. Her life work is to provide space for people to realize their own power and true nature and to assist with shedding old belief systems that no longer serve. She has a passion for animal welfare, diversity and inclusion work, and spending time with her children, who are her greatest teachers.
“I started my death work while companioning my grandfather Fidel in his final months with cancer, and realized the opportunity to grow in this space as I started my career in social services. I came to INELDA in 2020 to train after volunteering at hospice and wanting to better serve my patients.”
Marady is dually licensed in Oregon and Idaho as a master’s-level social worker and holds a second master’s degree in adult training and development. She is certified in yoga nidra, grant writing, and healing touch. She trained as a hospice volunteer and has run community support groups for suicide and grief. Marady joined as an educator in 2021, bringing her hospice skills to the INELDA classroom. She served the organization as a social work intern in 2022, doing research and helping open INELDA’s Emotional Support Center.
