“My journey to becoming an end-of-life doula educator with INELDA is both deeply personal and professionally rooted in my experiences as a nurse. Years ago, when my son was stillborn, I was comforted by a grief counselor who served as a doula. She made space for my grief, helping me understand that sorrow is steeped in love and the profound connections we hold with those we have lost. That experience transformed my view of death, teaching me the power of presence and the importance of holding space for others in their most vulnerable moments.”
Nzinga’s educational background includes a bachelor’s in nursing science from the University of Maryland and a master’s in nursing education from Drexel University. She is also a certified hospice and palliative care nurse. She has worked as a clinical manager and clinical educator in home care, where she cared for severely ill and handicapped patients, many of whom relied on life support or mechanical ventilation in the home setting. With over 19 years as a registered nurse, Nzinga combines professional expertise with personal experience to create compassionate, holistic spaces for those navigating the end-of-life journey.
