Saruh loves exploring the city for new art, music, and food. Their artistic endeavors include playing music and performing in a circus that toured the country in a school bus that ran on vegetable oil. They seek to live a life that centers on service, social justice, and adventure.
“I found my way to INELDA in a career transition moment and am very happy to be working to help the end-of-life care community flourish. However, the root of my interest in end-of-life care began when I was 25 and suddenly found myself caring for my dear friend through their dying process. Being present with my friend as they transitioned from life was profoundly illuminating. I discovered how impactful being attuned to a dying person’s needs can create a deep sense of comfort and peace.”
Saruh has worked for New York City doing social work and resource navigation for the past four years. During this time they have also worked as a community organizer and workshop facilitator. Prior to that they ran a dog-walking company in Brooklyn, volunteered as a sexual assault crisis counselor, and studied to receive their license as an emergency medical technician.
