Wilka Roig
Educator
San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, I completed a BA in Creative Cultural Expression that included a focus on psychology and writing, and an MFA in photography. I put myself through school by working in restaurants, and later worked as lecturer of art at Cornell University.

I returned to psychology when I realized students used art to pursue meaning making and discover life’s purpose. I completed an MA in Transpersonal Psychology, and relocated to México with my family and Blue Heeler dog, Bolena. In my private practice, it became evident that the work of life is also the work of end of life.

I trained with INELDA in 2017, and it confirmed that what we must tend in order to not lose sleep at night, is what we must address to prepare for dying. This has become the focus of my work and life. My commitment with INELDA is to reflect true International representation and grow and promote the EOL Doula movement in Latin America and globally.

Devoted to the evolution of our loss, grief, and end-of-life culture, I work as a death doula and grief counselor. I am an ordained interfaith minister, dream worker, educator, writer, Taoist arts instructor, cellist, and silversmith. I love reading books, baking, and wine culture.
