Did you know that home funerals are legal in every state? Doulas can explore ways to support those that are making this choice for themselves or loved ones. Learn more from The National Home Funeral Alliance, founded in 2010. We welcome Isabel Knight, president of NHA and a human-centered designer in the deathcare space, as well as board member Angela Woosley, a Minnesota-licensed mortician and natural deathcare provider. Both trained as doulas and can provide guidance and insights to the work that you do.

Together Isabel and Angela will share their knowledge and experiences around home funerals, facts and myths, and about the NHFA and their member support. INELDA educator, Kris Kington-Barker, will moderate the evening that will explore home funerals, community-led after-deathcare, policies on home funerals, and useful resources.

Speaker Bios:

Isabel Knight is the president of the National Home Funeral Alliance, an organization that educates families and communities to educate their own loved ones after death. Angela Woosley, M.A. (she/they) is a Minnesota-licensed mortician who taught in the UMN Program of Mortuary Science for over ten years before founding Inspired Journeys LLC in 2020.
