The short documentary A Good Death, directed and produced by Jean Chapiro and Alison Boya Sun, features INELDA-certified end-of-life doula Virginia Chang and her client Soon Ja. We invited the INELDA community to watch the documentary together followed by a conversation and Q&A with Virginia, where she speaks about her experience with while filming and her approach as a doula.

Virginia showed us how she guides, supports, and accompanies the dying through her beautiful relationship with Soon Ja. As Soon Ja approaches her final months, weeks, and days we are invited to contemplate our own mortality and by doing so learn how to appreciate life more and live better. The film asks us to confront our mortality and find beauty, love, and peace in death and dying.

*Please note, the webinar Q&A and conversation are available to view via the recording, however the period showing the film is not included due to distribution restrictions.

A Good Death received accolades as an official section at the DOC NYC 2023 festival, as well as Lift-Off Global Network Tokyo 2023 selection.
