After a near-death experience 25 years ago, Jose Hernandez’s life trajectory radically shifted. His journey from electrical engineer to acclaimed artist holds many lessons. While being bed-bound, he discovered a focus on healing through a connection to colors he witnessed when he was clinically dead. The internal transformation Jose underwent during that time has grown into an innovative technique called Inner Immersion, which has proven invaluable to addiction and mental health professionals.
Committed to training others in this technique, licensed mental health professionals, Jose, along with his Inner Immersions co-founder Anastasia Hernandez, employ mindfulness therapy, EMDR, breathwork, art-based Interventions, and color and sound therapy to support healing from past traumas, freedom from addiction, and personal growth. Jose’s work and experience have been recognized nationally in the Netflix docuseries “Surviving Death” and other national news stories. He is a member of the advisory council of Fundación Elisabeth Kübler-Ross México Centro and the Association of Transformational Leaders.
As the founder and president of Fundación Elisabeth Kübler-Ross México Centro, INELDA educator Wilka Roig has worked alongside Jose and will moderate this conversation.

Guest Speaker Bio(s):
Jose Hernandez is a visionary artist, international speaker, and transformational leader who co-founded Inner Immersion, Inc. His journey from electrical engineer to acclaimed artist began with a life-altering near-death experience in 2000, which profoundly shifted his life’s trajectory.
Despite no formal artistic training, Jose began creating art in 2004 as a form of meditation. His work, characterized by vivid colors and ethereal subject matter, now graces galleries, private collections, and prestigious institutions worldwide, including the Cleveland Clinic and Nicklaus Children’s Dan Marino Outpatient Centre.
Jose’s art also forms the foundation of Inner Immersion, a groundbreaking behavioral health modality. This innovative technique has proven invaluable to addiction and mental health professionals, facilitating significant breakthroughs and fostering trust with clients.
A member of the Association of Transformational Leaders, Jose frequently speaks about his near-death experience, healing the masculine, and art’s role in the healing process, particularly in mental health. His extraordinary journey is featured in the Netflix docuseries “Surviving Death.”
Jose resides in British Columbia’s Okanagan region with his wife Anastasia and youngest daughter Gabrielle. His work continues to inspire and transform, bridging the gap between the spiritual and physical worlds through the power of art and mindfulness. Email [email protected]
