INELDA Update – OCTOBER 2022

MEET NEW BOARD MEMBERS

INELDA welcomes Robyn Browning and Catherine Langley to the board of trustees.

Robyn Browning
Catherine Langley

Robyn has dedicated her career to advancing social justice. She has been working at nonprofits in the Twin Cities area for over 15 years in roles in public health, advocacy, disability services, and social services. Her career started as an AmeriCorps member serving on the Texas-Mexico border to help improve living conditions for residents in unincorporated settlements. Her current role is in grants management at the McKnight Foundation, where she works with the arts and culture program. Robyn has a master of public health from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Tulane University. She completed her INELDA doula training in December 2020.

Catherine began her career as a civil litigator, and then moved in-house. She is currently working for a direct sales cosmetics manufacturer dedicated to enriching women’s lives. From 2017 to 2019, Catherine practiced criminal law in Oregon; first as a prosecutor in charge of both the mental health docket and the elderly and disabled task force, and then as a defense attorney representing individuals from Lincoln County’s indigent community. During her time as a criminal defense attorney, Catherine represented participants in Lincoln County’s Drug Court program, as well as many individuals suffering from untreated mental illness, trauma, and abuse. Catherine found INELDA after two transformative end-of-life experiences with family members, and she truly believes that all individuals should have access to compassionate deathcare.

PROGNOSIS: NOTES ON LIVING FESTIVAL TOUR

INELDA, Groundspark, and Citizen Film continue their ongoing partnership with new fall screenings and community panel discussions at nationwide film festivals. PROGNOSIS: notes on living was Oscar-winning documentarian and LGBTQIA2S+ activist Debra Chasnoff’s response to her diagnosis of a deadly disease as she turned the camera on herself and her loved ones. This film is used in our trainings and has become an important tool for understanding issues and feelings raised at end of life. This fall INELDA-trained educators and filmmakers will partner on panels to further share this valuable movie. Join us for an upcoming panel discussion or screening if you haven’t seen Prognosis yet!
