This webinar will focus on new models of grief, how we recover from these painful losses, and the role of doulas in the challenges family and friends face after a death.
INELDA will interview Dr. Ken Doka, PhD, M.Div. a Professor of Gerontology at the Graduate School of The College of New Rochelle, who has written a great many books on grief and is a Senior Consultant to the Hospice Foundation of America, which provides leadership and education in the application of hospice and its philosophy of care. His latest book, Grief Is a Journey: Finding Your Path Through Loss, was published in 2016. It is written to help people who are grieving understand what they will experience as they traverse the uneven terrain or bereavement. Dr. Doka is the editor of both Omega: Journal of Death and Dying and Journeys: A Newsletter to Help in Bereavement. He has been a keynote speaker at conferences around the world.
